RESCUE OUR GIRLS OR RESIGN-CHIBOK GIRLS PARENTS TELL BUHARI

Dr. Ezekwesili consoling one of the Chibok Parent

Fifteen months ago they were made promise that their children, wards and relatives who were forcefully abducted by the Islamic terrorists group Boko haram will be returned, and returned as soon as possible. Fifteen months after this promise was made to the parents and relatives of the Ckibok girls, the man who made the promise, president mohamadu Buhari has disappointed, hence the call by these frustrated parents and relatives of the Chibok girls that the president either rescues the girls or resign.
The parents, who joined the #BringBackOurGirls coalition on Thursday for another protest march to the Presidential Villa, were again stopped by armed policemen.
A representative of the parents, Rev. Enoch Mark, accused the Federal Government of not doing enough to rescue the girls, saying the government should negotiate for their release.
Speaking on behalf of the parents of the abducted Chibok girls, Rev. Enoch Mark said the president should negotiate with the Islamic group to facilitate the urgent release of the abducted girls.
Rev. Mark said “we caste our vote for Buhari because he promised to rescue our girls, something he allege the president is reluctant to do.
Either use the military force or go for negotiation; some countries are ready to give you a helping hand. What are you waiting for? Are you not interested in bringing back our girls?
“We have intelligence agencies in Nigeria; there is nothing in this country that they don’t know. Why didn’t you give them orders to bring back our girls?
“Are you not a General? You know what is happening and you know where our daughters are. Buhari, if you feel that you are incapable of rescuing the girls, step down now and give power to someone else. We have many intelligent persons in the country who can handle this situation. You cannot tell us that you don’t know where the girls are.”
Rev. Mark whose two daughters are among the abducted Chibok girls said they were intimidated by the president when they visited the president in Aso Rock in January.  President Buhari had said according to Rev. Mark that he was frustrated and displeased with the Chibok parents and the #BringBackOurGirls group.
Meanwhile the convener of the #BBOG, Oby Ezekwesili in a statement she read said they group will march to the presidential Villa in 72 hours, if no positive response came from the presidency.
Ezekwesili further called for an investigate into the circumstances surrounding the troops feeding and incentives, saying complaints about their feedings and allowances were unacceptable.
The group challenged the federal government to show it has the political will to rescue the girls by taking a definite action on the matter.
It would recall that the Buhari led APC government had promised among other things during campaign to see that the abducted girls were released if voted into power. Fifteen months after coming into office, none of those promises has been kept, including the feeding of school children, five thousand monthly salaries to unemployed youths and others. Nigerians are now wondering, like the Chobok girls parents and relatives, if they were deceived with campaign promises by the man whom they thought was the messiah.
